Editing Style
A very obvious question I get asked often is how I edit my wedding photos. What kind of Editing Style is it? My answer is it’s taken me years to fall in love with a certain look and bring it to my clients. I want to deliver photos that focus more on the moment captured, rather than what filter is in trend right now. I would described my style as crisp and airy with a moody touch. I do most of my work in camera however so I don’t spend weeks editing issues I could just fix in camera.
Below I have some examples of my editing style and how it transforms from straight out of camera, to full delivered image. When I’m shooting, I go for the correct white balance and exposure. White balance is a tricky thing with changing atmospheres throughout the day. Then once in Lightroom, I edit the image to give it it’s fullest potential in color and detail. Then in the last stage of editing I take out distracting elements. For example, in the bride and groom photo, I took out the people in the background behind the trees.
Editing FAQ
Can I just get my images in RAW format?
No. I’m very strong about this as I am a full service studio. Same as you would expect a burger you’ve ordered to come cooked to the table correct? You don’t expect to be served RAW meat as I do not deliver RAW images. However I understand some situations are different and I’m happy to discuss options with you.
What if I want more editing done like a shirt to change color or braces to be taken out?
Some edits are easy and take no time. Edits needing a lot of extra attention may require an additional fee and more time to deliver.
