National Infantry Museum | Fort Benning Georgia
Kansas City Wedding Photography
I’m a Kansas City wedding photographer. In addition, people who know me, know my husband is military. Not just military. He is in the one percent of military that is infantry. Within that, he is the one percent of that one percent that are called Mortarmen. So while my husband is at a 5 week course in Fort Benning Georgia, I brought my daughter and I across country for a visit. While there, Fort Benning has the National Infantry Museum and it was fantastic. It’s voted the best free museum in the country. Although the museum could take you a least a full day to enjoy, we got in and out fairly quickly. I’m glad I brought my camera. Sad I didn’t bring a wide lens because this place is enormous. The attractions and scenes set up are amazing.
Anyone who is in the military will usually always spend some time at Fort Benning for training and I recommend going to this amazing museum. If we could have spent more time there we would have taken advantage of some of the paid attractions like the movie theatre or live demonstration. Not interesting to my husband to have to pay to do what he already does but I probably would’ve had fun. The infantry museum is also on the same location as the parade field that Chris graduated on so I know he liked being able to take his family back there.
I hope you enjoy some of the photos we took. I loved art history in college. This museum has brought history alive with most fantastic displays. It’s visually appealing and makes you want to stop and learn about everything. Make sure to make it out there if you ever get to visit Columbus, GA. You will not regret it.
I would be honored to capture more amazing sites like this. To reach me and see if I can photograph your building. Please reach me here on my contact page.
